Dorothy Livingston Rose 93 of Prosperity died Tuesday October 5 2010 at White Oak of Newberry. Born in Prosperity on June 15 1917 she was the daughter of the late John B. and Alice Hartman Livingston. She was predeceased by her husband Grady B. Rose. Mrs. Rose was retired from Newberry Mills and after retirement enjoyed her community volunteer work with the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church and a member of the Mt. Pilgrim Swingers She is survived by her children Alice Rose Hawkins of Prosperity and Grady B. (Ann) Rose Jr. of Monroe NC; 7 grandchildren Wendy Rose Sandie R. Pressly Elizabeth R. Kharbatley Stephanie Rose Derry Hawkins Bengie Hawkins and Angela Bundrick; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild Graveside funeral services were conducted at 4:30 P.M. Thursday at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Ron Smith and the Rev. Elford Ruff. The family was at her residence 959 Cy Schumpert Rd. Prosperity and will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. prior to the service in the church Parish Hall. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church W.E.L.C.A. Burial Fund or the Mt.
