Dorothy "Pat" Patricia Shealy, age 79 of Prosperity, died January 11, 2024 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born March 28, 1944 in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Emanuel Lester and Dorothy Reeves Shealy. She was the widow of Donald "Don" Ashley Shealy.

Pat had a love for all animals, especially her cats. She was a giving and generous person and gave donations on several occasions to support the Newberry County Sherriff's Office K-9 units. Pat was also a huge Clemson football fan, and rarely missed the opportunity to watch a game on television.

Above all, she was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She was especially proud of being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Over the years, the grandchildren could not wait to get straight over to Granny's house to see what she might be cooking and just to spend time with her.

She was a person of faith and was a longtime member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Bridgett E. Shealy of Prosperity; sons, Michael B. Shealy and Brian A. Shealy (Amanda) of Prosperity; a sister, Jackie Bowers (Tommy) of Newberry; granddaughters Gracelyn Shealy (Austin) and Sara Shealy (Greg); great-granddaughters, Paisley Shealy and Gabby Shealy; and numerous other loving family members.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Shealy.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 15, 2024, 2:00 PM, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Terry Amick. Interment will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Austin Williams, Greg Johnson, Craig Huggin, Craig Bedenbaugh, Phillip Sligh, and Russell Shealy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
