Doyle L. Wicker Jr. 75 of 239 Donna Lynn Lane Prosperity died Saturday. He was born on March 3 1936 in Sanford NC he was the son to the late Doyle L. Wicker Sr. and Mary Thomas Wicker. Doyle was a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School in Cayce SC a former member of Cayce United Methodist Church and later attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Cameron NC. He was a man who loved family and friends loved to tell stories and work with his hands and fish. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served three tours during Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force having achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant with his last assignment having been at Pope Air Force Base Fayetteville NC. He was a former member of the Newberry and Mid Carolina Lions Clubs. He is survived by his son Greg B. Wicker of Ballentine SC.; sister Susan Bruorton (Charlie) of West Columbia a brother Thomas Wicker of Saluda and a nephew Brad White of West Columbia. Mr. Wicker was the loving husband of the late Janet Fortune Wicker for 54 years. He was also predeceased by two children Donna Lynn Wicker and William L. Bill Wicker. Services were held. The family requests no floral tributes.
