Henry Bartley Bud Pierce Jr. DC 67 of 1800 Brookside Manor husband of Joyce Ann Woosley Pierce died Tuesday May 17 2011 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Louisville KY he was a son of the late Henry Bartley Pierce Sr. and Eleanor Mae Smalley Pierce. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman Chiropractic College and served Newberry County in that capacity for over thirty years. He was a US Army veteran and volunteered his time at the Newberry Opera House and for Meals on Wheels. Dr. Pierce was a generous man even in death giving the gift of sight by being an eye donor. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home; are two sons and daughters-in-law Tony and Kirsten Pierce of New Cumberland WV Todd and Donna Pierce of Murrells Inlet; sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Dave Gardner Christine and Randy Hutcherson all of Louisville; brothers and sisters-in-law Jim and Mary Lou Pierce Johnny and Cindy Pierce all of Louisville Charles and Tanja Pierce of Sellersburg IN William Billy and Theresa Pierce Stephen Pierce all of Georgetown IN and a granddaughter MacKenzie Pierce of New Cumberland WV. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Lutheran Church Prosperity with Pastor Randy Derrick officiating. All family friends and former patients are invited to attend.
