E. Pauline Gruber Singley, 91, of Pomaria, SC, died on Sunday, April 5, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on January 5, 1935, to the late Ernest Hugh, Jr. and Eugina Gruber. She was the wife of the late George D. “Duke” Singley, Jr.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She retired from Central Soya; which is now modern day ISE America, located in Newberry.
Pauline loved Elvis Presley and was fond of all his music and also enjoyed other Gospel artists and music. Her favorite past times were gardening flowers and simply being at home. Family brought her the most enjoyment; especially when it came to the holidays. She throughout her life enjoyed decorating during Holiday seasons.
In her later years, she enjoyed the dinner trips with the Newberry County Counseling and Aging group.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Betty Sligh (Jerry), sons, G. Thurmond Butch Singley, Billy Singley, and Ernest Singley; grandchildren, Kelsey Singley, Tracy Arrowood, David Stevens, Andy Singley and Eddie Singley; great-grandchildren, April and Joshua Arrowood. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kathy, Brenda, David, Christine and Alene.
In addition to her husband, sisters and brothers; she is predeceased by a grandson, Charles Stevens.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5 until 7:00 PM, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry, SC.
Graveside service will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
