Earl J. Kelly 84 of Prosperity SC widower of Eula Mae Kelly died Tuesday February 2 2010 at the Dorn V. A. Medical Center. He was born August 29 1925 in Newberry County a son of the late Cora Dominick and Roy M. Kelly. Mr. Kelly was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of Claude Lake Dominick Construction Company. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Club. Mr. Kelly is survived by a daughter Patricia A. Swittenberg of Cayce; three grandchildren Karon and Rick Johnson of Mt Pleasant Joey and Jodi Swittenberg of Columbia and Rob Smith of Alabama; great-grandchildren Zack Drew Tyler Shelby Emily and Rick; three sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Jim Cannon of Spartanburg Ella Mae and Richard Till of Columbia and Kate and Wilbur Sightler of Gaston; and brothers and sisters-in-law Frank and Chris Kelly of Lake Zurick IL John and Pam Kelly of Prosperity and a brother-in-law Ira Lee Frick of Little Mountain; loving nieces and nephews; a host of other family members and friends. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Crytal S. Smith a sister Grace Frick and a sister-in-law Martha Kelly. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lowry Drennen. Interment was in the church cemetery. The family did receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapin.
