Earlene Moates Foster 71 formerly of Werts Road Silverstreet died Sunday April 8 2012 in Anderson. Mrs. Foster was born in Newberry on September 20 1940 a daughter of the late William Earl and Ellen Black Moates. She was a homemaker who loved to write poetry and enjoyed fishing crocheting riding bikes putting puzzles together and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Foster is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Mary F. (Donald) Chapman of Newberry Betty J. Foster of Florence and Ellen L. (Sammy) Wilson of Williamston; son Claude L. Foster of Anderson; grandchildren Glenn Edward Wilson U.S. Army James Arlan Wilson and Sammy I. (Amanda) Wilson; great-grandchildren Holly Noel Brown Autman Elizabeth Strictland Hunter James Leylan Wilson Meadow Grace Wilson and Savannah Shyanne Wilson; sisters Rachael Preston and Minnie Terry both of Newberry; brothers Luther Moates of VA Bill Moates of Silverstreet Earl Moates of Trenton and Bobby Moates of Jonesville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Claude B. Foster Jr.; daughter Sally G. Foster; and brother Olin Moates. Graveside funeral services weree conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday at Silverstreet Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Amick. Visitation was from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Earlenes words were Dont worry Ill be fine. Im doing the dance.".
