Edward C. "Ed" Ruff, Sr., 77, died Friday, May 19, 2017 at his residence. Born on September 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Catherine Springer Ruff. Ed was a U.S. Airforce veteran of the Berlin Crisis and he retired from the Metropolitan Dade County Police Department with the rank of Sergeant after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Macedonia Lutheran Church, the Goldies, the Fairview Community Center, and the Retired Officer's Council in Miami, Fl. He was also a Lifetime member of the Village Masonic Lodge and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen Williams Ruff; children, Ed Ruff, Jr (Peggy), Jerry Ruff (Leslie), Evan Ruff (Ashley), and Jenelle R. Beckham (Michael); grandchildren, Henry, Ben, Phil, Mikey, and Coralie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randy Derrick. Interment will be in church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Goldies of Macedonia Lutheran Church.
