Eleanor "Ellie" Kirkegard Linder, 72, of Greenville died Thursday December 9, 2021 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born on May 13, 1949 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Edna Johnson and Howard Bach Kirkegard, Sr. Ellie began her real estate career selling residential properties for Faye Galloway Company and became best friends with Faye. After Faye's death, she continued on in real estate, working alongside Faye's daughter, Vicki. She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Greenville and active in the Greenville Area Alcoholics Anonymous, where she served as a sponsor for numerous people over the years. Ellie was a good cook, following her heart in the kitchen rather than recipes. She was a true lady, always put together, and carried herself with a lot of class. Ellie was a good friend, and once a friend of Ellie's always a friend. She was extremely loyal and trustworthy and cultivated relationships with people throughout her life, from youth groups and Girl Scout days right up to those who helped care for her these past few weeks. Wherever she went, she made a lasting impact on people. She had a zest for life, a quick wit, and was always up for some fun. She will be remembered for her loyalty, her contagious spirit, and her kindness - everyone loved Ellie. She is survived by her daughter, Meda Linder Kutsherenko (Anthony); grandchildren, Anthony "AJ" Adem Kutsherenko and Eleanor "Ella" Alene Kutsherenko; siblings, Karen Kirkegard Wehman (Peter) of Columbia and Howard B. Kirkegard (Nina) of Newberry; niece, Mary Kirkegard Moore; and nephews Prentiss Wehman and Dr. Jacob Wehman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, Gus Allison. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11 AM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry by Pastor Josh Fink. The family extends a special thank you to Mickey Vest and those at the JF Hawkins Nursing Home nursing home for the love and care extended to Ellie. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Greenville Area Alcoholics Anonymous, Upstate Intergroup 2320 E. North St., Ste AA, Greenville SC 29607.
