Elene Bush Cox, 92, of Chapin, died Saturday February 29, 2020 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born on November 6, 1927 in Chapin, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Tom" and Lottie Shealy Bush. She worked alongside her husband, Luke, in their business, Cox Home Improvement. Luke Cox predeceased her on February 14, 2016. Mrs. Cox was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Little Mountain Chapter #276. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed RV Camping, trips to the beach and mountains and sitting around the camp fire. She is survived by her sons, Glen Cox (Pam) of Little Mountain and Bruce Cox (Carolyn) of Caryville, TN; grandchildren Barry Nelson Cotney (Retha Dailey), Bryon Lee Cotney, and Stephanie Woods (Jene); and son-in-law, Nelson Cotney. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Teri Cotney and brother, John "Johnny" Bush. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 3 at Mt Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Mark Wilkes. Memorials are suggested to Mt.
