Elizabeth "Betty" Stone Campbell, 81, of Whitmire, entered into her heavenly home Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Campbell was born on December 11, 1935 in Whitmire, a daughter of the late Perry Coleman and Eula Baker Stone.
She was a member of Whitmire Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder Emertius and a member of the Fannie Simpson Circle.
Mrs. Campbell was an English teacher for over 30 years, retiring in 1993 from Whitmire High School.
Known as a kind, genuine women with high morals and a strong faith, she enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting, tatting, but her favorite pastime was reading. Gathering family together was important to her and her grandchildren were her heart.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey Jean and Matthew Walter of Simpsonville; a son, Robert Wayne Campbell of Whitmire; grandchildren, Andrew Beamon Campbell and Ethan Robert Campbell of Whitmire, Hannah McKenzie Walter and Morgan Barrett Walter of Simpsonville; sisters, Linda Ann Lominick (Jimmy) of Whitmire and Judy Dale Epting of Newberry; sister-in-law, Willene Wicker Stone of Whitmire; and a special niece, Patricia Worthy Fulmer of Whitmire.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Ordie Robert Campbell; brother, Claude Harrison Stone; and brother-in-law, Robert Warren Epting.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Whitmire Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Steve Mays.
Interment will follow at the Whitmire Cemetery.
