Elizabeth M. Gvozdas 97 of Prosperity wife of the late Peter Paul Gvozdas entered into eternal rest on Tuesday December 22 2015. Born on November 14 1918 in Wilkes-Barre PA she was one of ten children of the late Nicholas Buynak and Sophia Fristky Buynak. Elizabeth was the last surviving member of her birth family. A member of the Parish of St. Andre Bessette Catholic Church Mrs. Gvozdas was conscientious in attending church services and especially those when children were participants. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Slovak Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre PA She enjoyed watching Daily Mass action movies and General Hospital on the television. She also enjoyed doing the Polka and Czardas dances. She was a great cook especially traditional Slovak dishes and enjoyed teaching her children to prepare these dishes. She was undeniably a devoted mother and wife; her family was everything to her. She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Joseph M and Kathleen Gvozdas of Columbia MD Peter D. and Carolyn Gvozdas of Prosperity SC and Richard P. and Janice Gvozdas of Las Vegas NV; eleven grandchildren: Joseph David Susan James Peter Jason Arianne Scott Gregory Melissa and Justin; twelve great grandchildren: Jessica Bryn Cole Isabelle Sophia Margaret Mary Scott Clara Hayden Connor Chloe and Talia. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her siblings: Stephen John Bernard Nicholas Joseph Michael George Frank and Sophia Josephine. Services will be held in Wilkes-Barre PA.
