Elizabeth Fowler Davis, 9o, of Newberry, entered her heavenly home on Friday, June 10, 2016. Mrs. Davis was born on June 14, 1925 in Chester, SC, to the late Casper H. Fowler and Leona Lowman Fowler. She received her Bachelor of Science from Winthrop College in Home Economics, graduating Magna Cum Laude. On June 14, 1946 she married the love of her life, Lewis Davis, who preceded her in death. Her most significant accomplishment was rearing two daughters with Christian faith and values. She was an active member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church and a humble witness of her faith to everyone she encountered. She found great joy in teaching as evidenced in her years at Blythewood High, Whitmire High, Newberry High and Aveleigh Presbyterian Church High School Sunday School. Her great love of Jesus Christ was evident through her providing Bibles to her students and many others. She is survived by daughters and their spouses, Leona and Gordon Query of Columbia and Louise and Calhoun Parr of Newberry; grandchildren, G. Stowe (Carrie) Query, Jr., Leona Parr (Aaron) Ransdell and Elaine Parr; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Davis Query. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Lowman Fowler and Margaret Fowler Earle. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mitchell Van Metre. A private family burial will be held prior to the service. The family will receive friends in Truesdell Hall following the service at the church. The family expresses gratitude to Daybreak Adult Care Services for their constant care for the last seven years.
