Elizabeth Dorney, 86, of Newberry, died Saturday, August 27, 2016 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Mrs. Dorney was born on August 1, 1930 in Ware, MA, the daughter of the late Leopold and Winifred Phillips Lanier. She was a retired elementary school cafeteria administrator. She dedicated her life to her family and the children who attended her school. Mrs. Dorney was loved by her family and extended family. She is survived by children; Bill Dorney of Beech Island, SC and Collen Cochrane of Quinebaug, CT; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren who she truly loved and they always came first; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and soul mate of 50+ years, James F. Dorney, whom she adored and also predeceased by a son, James F.
