Elizabeth "Liza" Ives Johnson 20 of 6218 Mt. Bethel Garmany Rd. Newberry died Monday October 12 2009.She was born on July 2 1989 in Lexington County. Currently she was a junior at the College of Charleston and was a 2006 graduate of Mid Carolina High School where she participated in many activities and clubs. She was a member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church. Liza was a compassionate and loving young woman who enjoyed volunteering with the Newberry County Animal Shelter. She is survived by her parents Rhonda Truesdale and Jamie E. Johnson of Newberry; two brothers Tyler Johnson and Sam Johnson both of Newberry; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Truesdale Sr. of Winnsboro; paternal grandmother Lizzie Mae Johnson of Salley; a number of aunts uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Marion Willard Johnson Sr. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Mitchell Van Metre and Rev. Terry Amick. The family was at the residence 6218 Mt. Bethel Garmany Rd. and did receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry.Pallbearers were Joshua Meetze Shane Snyder Ryan Hawkins Harris Pantlik Grant Cutler John Pennell Michael Carey and Al Rush.
