Elvira Bidie Shealy Hawkins 91 of Prosperity died Thursday November 6 2014 at her residence. Memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Price at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday November 8 2014 in the Good Sheppard Room at Grace Lutheran Church Prosperity. A private family interment will precede the memorial service. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Hawkins was born on December 24 1922 in Newberry a daughter of the late Berley and Alice Hiller Shealy. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher a youth advisor and was a member of the Grace Sease Sunday School Class. She and her husband were the owners of Hawkins Insurance. She cherished the many relationships they built there both with their customers and the community. Baking was her passion. Family and friends were often happily gifted with her brownies yummies and Italian cream cake. She was married to the late Lewis Hawkins for 58 years. She is survived by a daughter Beverly Hawkins of Prosperity and Orangeburg; special nieces Martha Bowers of Newberry and Debbie Bowers of Jackson TN; special sisters-in-law Faye Hawkins and Hazel Hawkins both of Prosperity. Pallbearers will be David Bowers Jr. Daniel Bowers George Dawkins Emmett Wicker Jody Creel and Steve Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Grace Sease Sunday School Class.
