Emily Blair Williams 67 of 1214 Walnut St. Newberry died Sunday May 27 2012 at the Hospice House of Laurens County. Visitation was from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday May 31 at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer by the Rev. Dr. David Seymour. Interment did follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Born in Newberry on January 17 1945 she was a daughter of the late James Lindsay and Connie Epting Blair. Emily worked for the Newberry County School District for a number of years. Church and family were important to her and she will be remembered as a devoted wife mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she was a member of the Seekers Class. Emily had also served on the Congregation Council had been a former choir member and had participated in many other activities of the church She is survived by her husband of 46 years Larry W. Williams; two sons and their wives James Blair and Mary Williams and Matthew King and Kristen Williams all of Newberry; grandsons David Allen Williams Luke Andrew Williams and Jonathan King Williams; and sisters and their husbands Libby and Miles Wallace of Rock Hill and Faye and Ronnie Templeton of San Antonio TX. She was also predeceased by an infant son Allen Watson Williams. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Seekers Class.
