Emma Brooks Eslava 82 of 2519 Alex Ave. Newberry widow of George E. Eslava Jr. died Friday June 24 2005 at her residence.Mrs. Eslava was born on September 16 1922 in Conecuh County AL a daughter of the late Richard Noble and Mary Lynch Brooks. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church in Mobile AL until she moved to Newberry in 2000 when she moved her membership to Glenn St. Baptist Church. She retired from Allen Memorial Nursing Home in Mobile AL as a nursing aid. She moved to Newberry in 2000 to live with her niece and spouse Pat and Eakie McCullough.Mrs. Eslava is survived by a sister Anne Lucille Kelley of Westminister CO; nephews and spouses Jack and Linda Blackburn Dewayne and Nancy Blackburn all of Newberry; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and a step-daughter Yvette Sondergard of Mesa AR.Graveside funeral services were conducted at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery McKenzie AL by the Rev. Charles Matthews.Visitation was from 12:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
