Emma Julia Ballentine Irons Sease 90 of Bush River Road Newberry died Friday June 7 2013 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday June 18 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rodney Gunter. Interment was in the church cemetery. The family did receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM Monday June 17 2013 at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry Born on August 12 1922 in Lexington County she was the daughter of the late John A. and Carrie Corley Ballentine. She was a retired teacher having taught general science biology chemistry and physics at Newberry High School for over 30 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma AAUW the Retired Teacher's Association the Newberry and South Carolina Education Association the Tranwood Extension Club and other community and social clubs. Mrs. Sease was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was a member of her circle a former Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was predeceased by her husbands Virgil E. Irons and Elisha Sease; a grandson Will Irons; and a step-son Tim Irons. She is survived by her daughter Ada I. (Lee) Griffith of Magnolia TX; sons William B. (Cynthia) Irons of Cross Hill and Charles W. (Joye) Irons of Prosperity; grandchildren Nigel (Christy) Irons Mckenzie Irons Jonathan (Jennifer) Irons Nikki (Rob) Nelson and Brianna Irons; great grandchildren T. C. Irons Celee Irons Judsen Irons Joseph Irons Mia Irons Corban Irons Summer Irons Autum Irons and Ashton Nelson; granddaughter-in-law Melissa Irons Wells; step-sons Dan Sease of Newberry and John (Barbel) Irons of Awendaw; and step-greatgrandchildren Trey Nelson Elija Nelson and Jacob Nelson. Active pallbearers were John Long Paul Long George Reeves Clyde Reeves Nigel Irons Jonathan Irons Nikki Irons Nelson and McKenzie Irons.
