Eric Jordan Phillips, 27, of Kinards, South Carolina, died Tuesday afternoon, August 20, 2024, in Newberry, South Carolina.

Born on February 9, 1997, in Newberry, SC, he was a son of Natosha Barker Phillips and the late Michael Shawn Phillips.

Jordan was known to be a funny, goofy and real down to earth guy. Simplistic in his ways of living and he showed kindness to everyone he knew, especially towards his family. His greatest joy and pride in his life was being a father to his daughter, Jocilynn. Jordan's family was always most important to him, and he admired the close relationship he had with his dad. The kids in his family will forever hold a special place in Jordan's life, that completed him in many ways. He loved his little brothers and cherished dearly being the best father to Jocilynn.

He loved cooking and when it came to grilling, he was a master with steaks and chicken. He started cooking at a young age and possessed a love for it and he was certainly known for it. He was currently employed at Groucho's Deli, here in Newberry as a cook. Jordan was an avid Clemson football fan, and he could also binge watch crime shows and movies on Netflix. He was a big fan of Luke Combs and enjoyed listening to every album that Luke Combs released.

He is survived by his mother, Natosha Phillips; his daughter, Joycilynn Ruff Phillips; his brothers, Nick Phillips and Dustin Phillips (Katie); a special cousin Kelly Hendrix (Adam); nephew's, Aiden Phillips and Kobe Phillips; niece, Kallani Phillips. Jordan is also survived by his girlfriend of 13 years, Lauren Ruff; as well as a host of cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry Chapel.

A memorial service will be held Monday, 4:00 PM at Glory Tabernacle Church, Newberry, SC.
