Ernest B. Conner, 84, of Kinards, widower of Barbara Sanford Conner, died Saturday at his residence. Born February 5, 1934 in Newberry County, he was a son of the late William M. and Ruth Gresham Conner and was raised in the home of the late Minnie Lee Conner. He was a retired employee of Greenwood Mills, Blalock Plant. Mr. Conner is survived by daughters, Valerie C. Howard and Kay C. Webb, both of Kinards; sister, Linda Souther of Portal, GA; brother, Tommy Conner of Statesboro, GA; two grandsons, Jeremy Howard and A. J. Webb; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by daughter, Donna Conner; granddaughter, Heather Howard; sisters, Willie Ruth Crapps, Allie Moates, Beth Pribbernow, Margaret Long and Genevieve Brewington; and brothers, Martin C. Conner, James Clifford Conner, Wayne Conner and Joe Conner. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday in Rosemont Cemetery.
