Estelle Cromer Smith, 91, of Newberry, died Monday, August 14, 2017 at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care. Born on May 23, 1926 in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Essie Lake Cromer and the wife of the late Jobe E. Smith, Jr. Mrs. Smith retired from American Fiber and Finishing in Newberry and was a lifelong member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. She enjoyed camping with her husband and daughter and riding motorcycles with her husband. She is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, James Robert "Robbie" and Claudette King of Lexington and Joyce Anne and Jacob Earl Eargle, Jr. of Irmo; great-grandchildren, James Ryan King, William Cory King, Jessica Anne Eargle, and Brittany Amber Eargle; and great great-grandchildren, Jaxon Lankford and Anthony Price. In additional to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Smith King and son-in-law, James Ray King. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 5000 Mt. Bethel Garmany Rd, Newberry, SC 29108 conducted by the Rev. William Hightower. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Ryan King, William Cory King, Jacob Earl Eargle, Jr., Bobby Cromer, Larry Cromer, and John Miller.
