Eunice Catherine Staeber Wagner, 76, of Newberry died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. Mrs. Wagner was born on October 11, 1940 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late John N. and Nettie Stewart Staeber. She graduated from Marietta College in 1962 where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. While attending graduate school at Ohio State University, she met her husband Keith. In addition to being a caring homemaker, she worked in the financial aid office at Newberry College. Eunice enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as her animal family. She also enjoyed volunteering for the local pet rescue organization, practicing yoga and playing bridge. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine Wagner and Chris Pierson of Columbia and her son and daughter-in-law, K. Stewart and Melissa Wagner of Union; grandchildren Katie, Alex, and Lane Wagner and Kara Pierson; and her cat, Tilly. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Keith Edward Wagner, her parents, and her sister, Frances Staeber. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer conducted by the Rev. Matthew Titus and Father Dan Wagner.
