Eva Walker Clamp 94 of 2039 Mower St. Newberry widow of James V. Clamp Sr. died Sunday March 25 2012 at her home. Mrs. Clamp was born in Wray Georgia to the late George Dixon and Lillie Davis Walker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She retired as the chief operator for Southern Bell. She was a member of the Newberry County Historical Society the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fine Arts Club. She was also a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ezell Bible Class. Mrs. Clamp is survived by a son and his wife James V. and Sheila Clamp Jr. of Warner Robins GA. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Karen Radcliffe. Entombment did follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Harold Folk David DuBose Richard Carter Mac Hill David Livingston Eugene C. Griffith Mike Epps Eddie Longshore Marcus Lester and Brandon Turner.
