Evelyn Taylor Lee, 88, formerly of Nance Street in Newberry, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at White Oak Manor. Born on August 29, 1927 in Darlington, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward Taylor and Lucille Hughes Taylor. She was a former member of the Church of Christ. She was devoted to her family and loved cooking for them and babysitting her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening. Mrs. Lee was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Newby E. Lee and is survived by her children, Connie Lee Morris (Jimmy) of Newberry, and David Wayne Lee (Kim) of Guyton, GA; brother, Virgil Taylor of Bamberg; grandchildren, Chad E. Morris (Kyndy), Brandon Morris (Jessica), Christy Lee Turnage, Heather Lee, Hayden Lee, and Calvin Lee Turnage (Tina); great grandchildren, Kade and Alli Morris, Luke, Levi, Logan and Lane Morris and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a son, Newby Franklin Lee, and siblings, Jack Taylor, Vivian T. Stewart, Douglas Taylor and Jimmy Taylor. The family will be at the her residence 3266 Nance St., Newberry. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 am, Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance St., Newberry, SC 29108.
