Evelyn Wood Leavell Davis 82 born July 10 1929 in Newberry SC passed away in her home on March 8 2012 in Chattanooga TN. Memorial services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 10th at Rivermont Presbyterian Church with visitation at 10:00 AM. Graveside services was held on Monday March 12 at 11:00 AM in Rosemont Cemetery Newberry by the Rev. Dr. Mitchell VanMetre. Mrs. Davis attended Agnes Scott College and was a graduate of Newberry College SC. She worked at the American National Bank in Chattanooga for ten years. She also worked as a child care attendant at the"Early Learning Center" of Rivermont Presbyterian Church for 13 years until her retirement in 2009. Mrs. Davis was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church where was a member of the Womens Circle. She was a devoted wife mother sister and friend and will be sadly missed. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her parents James Richard and Ella Bowman Leavell of Newberry SC and her husband Bill M. Davis. She is survived by her son Richard Vann Davis of Chattanooga TN; her sister Mrs. Charles W. (Betty) Gibson Jr.of Long Beach MS; her nieces Mrs. Rex (Beth) Death of Long Beach MS and Mrs. Garry (Cathy) San Antonio of Greenville TX; her nephew James Leavell Gibson of Heath TX; and two great-nieces five great-nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews.
