Faye Horton Long 57 of 149 Long Oak Lane Chapin wife of Dr. Gerald V. Long died Tuesday January 3 2006 at her residence.Mrs. Long was born on March 2 1948 in Spartanburg a daughter of Vonnie A. and Artie Cantrell Horton. She was first a wife and mother second a homemaker and served many friends and strangers through her husband's practice and through her membership in the Dutch Fork Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 7449 Broad River Road Irmo SC. Mrs. Long is survived by her husband parents of Boiling Springs three daughters and one son-in-law Laurin Long of Chapin Kristin L. and Ben Connell of Chapel Hill NC and Erin Long of Columbia; four sons and three daughters-in-law David Long of Conway Richard and Amber Long of Mesa AZ Russell and Jaqueline Long of Florence and Geoffrey and Victoria Long of Irmo; one sister and brother-in-law Vonnie Lee and Steve Raff of Spartanburg; three brothers and two sisters-in-law Doug and Janet Horton Brent and Debbie Horton and Tony Horton all of Boiling Springs; and six grandchildren Elizabeth Long Alexander Long Andrew Long Matthew Long Isabella Long and Kaya Long.Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P. M. Friday at the Dutch Fork Ward Building. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens.Visitation was6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry.
