Florence Hunt Patterson Daugherty went to be with her Lord on Monday August 17 2015 in Elberton Georgia at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 22 2015 at Little River Dominick Presbyterian Church Kinards SC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Florence Hunt Patterson was born in Port Wentworth on March 27 1929. She was the first of twin girls (the 4 and 5th children) of Margaret Anna Rice Patterson and James Little Patterson. Florence graduated in 1947 from Savannah High School. Attending Erskine College she graduated in 1954 with an AB in Education. She was married to the Reverend Lawton Daugherty. They served at pastorates in Lowndesville Charleston Kinards and Abbeville South Carolina; Salem Virginia; Savannah Elberton and Hartwell Georgia. Florence served as an elementary school teacher in Virginia and Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved Lawton Daugherty of 56 years of marriage. Florence is survived by David and Pam Daugherty of Bowman GA; Payson and Nell Daugherty of Birmingham AL; Patterson (Pat) and Phillip Bullard of Dunwoody GA; Sue and Rick Brown of Roanoke VA; and Alice and Tony Harris of Loganville GA. Florence is also survived by her nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Florence leaves 3 siblings as well: Maner Kellam of Garden City GA; Margaret Moffatt of Ashville NC; and Bill Patterson of Savannah GA. She is predeceased by her brothers Jim and Palmer Patterson. Florence was known for her sewing knitting and canning. Most of all she was known for her singing. She always had a song in her heart and on her lips. She was often invited to be in a choir wherever she went. Now she sings soprano in the Heavenly choir.
