Florence Littlejohn Puckett 86 of 2530 Fair Avenue Newberry died Tuesday February 22 2011 at her residence. Born on March 6 1924 in Spartanburg she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Ella Foster Littlejohn. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising children both her own and those of her neighborhood. She attended the College St. Church of God. Mrs. Puckett was married to the late John D. Puckett for 53 years and she is survived by 3 daughters Margie (Thom) Peer of Prosperity Mildred (Larry) Champion of Newberry and Dorothy (Johnny) Smith of Orange Park FL; 3 sisters Ella Mae Barnette of Gautier MS Daisy Engall of Moss Pointe MS and Minnie Wix of Union; a brother Roy Littlejohn of Union County; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 8 brothers and a grandson. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Johnny Burgess and the Rev. Michael Shirley. Interment was in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
