Frances Crumpton Humphries 87 of Newberry died Sunday November 21 2010 at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Humphries was born on March 20 1923 in Newberry County a daughter of the late H. L. and Lorean Wicker Crumpton. She was a retired employee of the Kendall Co. Oakland Plant. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Clemson SCF Club. She is survived by her sons Tharon Humphries of Rhode Island and Carlton Humphries of Newberry; sisters Carmelia C. Brewer and Bessie C. Tarver both of Newberry; four grandchildren Monica Wicker and Chad Humphries who were raised in her home and Kevin Humphries and Kim Hall; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie C. Humphries; son Henry P. Humphries; sisters Doshia Gentry Mavis Tarver and Doris Smith; and brothers Thomas C. Crumpton and Ernest Crumpton. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Charlie Clinton and Rev. Mark Crumpton. Interment was in the Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuesday at Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry. Pallbearers were Shane Wicker Travis Tarver Barry Shane Wicker Rudy Tarver Mike Crumpton and Earl Dominick.
