Obituary

Frances Crumpton Humphries 87 of Newberry died Sunday November 21 2010 at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Humphries was born on March 20 1923 in Newberry County a daughter of the late H. L. and Lorean Wicker Crumpton. She was a retired employee of the Kendall Co. Oakland Plant. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Clemson SCF Club. She is survived by her sons Tharon Humphries of Rhode Island and Carlton Humphries of Newberry; sisters Carmelia C. Brewer and Bessie C. Tarver both of Newberry; four grandchildren Monica Wicker and Chad Humphries who were raised in her home and Kevin Humphries and Kim Hall; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie C. Humphries; son Henry P. Humphries; sisters Doshia Gentry Mavis Tarver and Doris Smith; and brothers Thomas C. Crumpton and Ernest Crumpton. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Charlie Clinton and Rev. Mark Crumpton. Interment was in the Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuesday at Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry. Pallbearers were Shane Wicker Travis Tarver Barry Shane Wicker Rudy Tarver Mike Crumpton and Earl Dominick. Memorials are suggested to Faith Assembly of God 798 Fair St. Newberry SC 29108. The family expresses their sincere thanks to the staff of White Oak Manor for their devoted care of Mrs. Humphries.
