Frances Rudisill Hamm, 91, of Prosperity, died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hamm was born on August 3, 1927 in Crouse, NC a daughter of the late D. O. and Blanche Fisher Rudisill.
She graduated from Winthrop College and taught school for a number of years in both N.C. and S.C.
Mrs. Hamm was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Francis Asbury Sunday School Class and the Joy Group.
She enjoyed playing canasta with her friends and kayaking even at the age of 90. She loved flowers and gardening and interior design.
Mrs. Hamm loved her family and the trips to the beach with them to celebrate her birthdays each year. She is survived by her husband, David Bedenbaugh; children, James Walter "Wally" Hamm, Jr. (Rene') of Charleston, David Andrew Hamm (Mandy) and Nancy Elizabeth Hamm Gause (Sam) all of Prosperity; sister, Patricia "Pat" Knowles (Dallas) of Crouse, NC; grandchildren, Cora McPherson (Nick), Drew Hamm (Krystian), Summer Hamm Childers (Tyler), and Bailey Gause; great grandchildren, Henry, Charlie, Isla Kate, Rayleigh, Bladen, Cason, Lena, and Ryker; and nieces & nephews, Susan H. Davis, Mot Hamm, Shell Hamm Jordan, Daniel H. Hamm, IV, Doug Knowles, David Knowles, and Donna Knowles Corriher,
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, J. Walter Hamm and a nephew, Dan Hamm III.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday at Wightman United Methodist Church by the Rev. Brian Rainwater, the Rev. Jimmy Counts, and the Rev. Ralph Bowling, III.
Interment will follow in the Prosperity Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Hamm, Lee Foster, Huger Caughman, Jim Barnes, Doug Knowles, and David Knowles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Hare, Michelle Crump, Billy Mills, and the members of the Francis Asbury Sunday School Class.
