Frances Adams Waits, 91, of Newberry, died Monday, December 10, 2018 in Newberry. Born on May 8, 1927 in Pomaria, SC, she was the youngest of thirteen children of the late Ernest J. and Carrie Cromer Adams. Frances was married for 39 years to the late Clifford H. Waits, Sr. who predeceased her in 1986. She was an active member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and writing cards to friends and family. She loved life and the people in her life and was a friend to everyone she ever met. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Mrs. Waits is survived by her children Clifford "Cliff" H. Waits, Jr. (Ann) of Maysville, KY and Cathy Walker (Dr. Otis Walker) of Newberry; grandchildren, Christopher Waits (Kelsey), Michael Waits (Alicia), Dr. Timothy Waits (Amanda), Sheena Senn (Ben), Ashley Senn (Claudia), Matt Walker (Jennifer) and Todd Walker (Dr. Lisa Walker); 12 great grandchildren; one last surviving sibling, Janie Nichols; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 16 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 17 at First Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Waits, Timothy Waits, Robert Adams, Matt Walker, Ashley Senn and Dr. John Thompson. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, 1020 Boundary St., Newberry, SC 29108.
