Fredrick Donald Welch, Jr.

Mr. Fredrick Donald Welch, Jr. died Sunday, May 24, 2026 in Chapin South Carolina, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, on December 29, 1946, he was the son of Fredrick D. Welch, Sr. and Virginia Welch of Highpoint, North Carolina.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by Lexington Furniture and was Vice-President of Burris Furniture.

He graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. Degree in Engineering and received his Master’s Degree in Investment Banking from the University of South Carolina.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years, Sharon Candice (Candy) Welch, of Chapin, South Carolina; his sister, Nancy Livingston of Chapin, S.C, and nephews David and Matthew Livingston of Greenville, S.C. He was predeceased by his son, Bryan Christopher Welch.

In addition, he leaves behind his extended family Edgar and Vicky Orozco, and Kevin, Bryan and Ellie.

Services for Fredrick D. Welch, Jr., will be held at noon, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, 2721 Dutch Ford Rd, Chapin, S.C. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
