G. Michael "Mike" Evans, 70, of Prosperity, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his residence. Born on April 17, 1947 in Vincennes, IN, he was a son of the late Vaughn and Garnett Evans. Mike was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam. He worked at Cape Kennedy from 1982 until 1987. He had a love for life, the simple things that God blessed us with. Survivors include his nieces, Pamela J. Fleming (Anthony) of Texas and Dawn Estes (Steve) of Florida; and nephews, Steven W. Fleming (Tania) of Panama and Allan Wood (Gloria) of Oregon. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Donna L. Fleming and brother, Robert Wood. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel, 1704 College St., Newberry, SC 29108.
