Gail Coppock Doolittle, 82, of Greenwood died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Ashley Square in Greenwood.

Born on November 3, 1941 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary Etta Auton Coppock.

Gail graduated from the Newberry College business school and worked for many years as a safety officer before retiring from the Personnel department at the Monsanto Plant in Greenwood. In 1962, she married Chester Young Doolittle, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his death in 2021.

She was an energetic, fun-loving person. Gail loved new clothes, new cars – especially Cadillacs, gambling trips to Harrah's, and Elvis. She loved to dance and even when she could no longer speak, she danced. Above all else, Gail loved her family.

She is survived by her brothers, Olin Coppock and Wayne Coppock (Lynn) both of Newberry; niece, Maleah Kesler (Shaun); nephews, Stevie Coppock, Andy Coppock (Michelle), Chris Coppock (Candace), Chad Coppock (Elizabeth) ; great-nieces, Haven, Rabon, Madison, Addison and Catherine; and great-nephews, Britt Coppock and Kade Koon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Steve Coppock.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry. Interment will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service, starting at 2:00 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.

Pallbearers will be Andy Coppock, Chris Coppock, Chad Coppock, Kade Koon, Britt Coppock, and Henry Auton.
