G. Parker Powers, Jr., 54, died Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his residence in Chapin. Born on June 30, 1965, he was a son of Katherine Huffman Powers and the late Gene Parker Powers, Sr. He was the retired owner of G.P. Powers, Inc. He was gifted with the ability to fix almost anything and when not working, he really enjoyed fishing. Parker was a hardworking man who had a lot of gusto for life. He was a loving man, a dear husband who loved his wife very much and a father who loved his children and grandchildren. His friends were his family. In addition to his mother of Batesburg-Leesville, he is survived by his his wife of 30 years, Debbie Frick Powers; children, Nancy Lee Harding (John) of Irmo and Adam Parker Powers of Chapin; grandchildren, Jaylyn Browning, Christina Harding, and Christopher Harding; and siblings Devon P. Lake (Mike) of Columbia, and Dayne Haile (Robbie) and Blake Powers (Libby) all of Chapin. He was predeceased by his father and a daughter, Samantha Brook Powers.
