Geneva Wendell "Wendy" Ryan Wright, 88, of White Rock, died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Heritage at Lowman after an extended illness. Mrs. Wright was born on August 29, 1929 in Georgetown, SC, the daughter of the late Ralph Wendell and Geneva Caines Ryan. Wendy was a former employee of both DuPont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Plant and also spent many years working in management in the hospitality business. Wendy grew up in Charleston and lived in Aiken for over 50 years before moving to Chapin in 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at the time of her passing. Friends and family were important to Wendy and she took pleasure in nurturing all living things from her household plants, to her adopted pets or anyone who needed a helping hand. Wendy especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and whether she was cooking, entertaining or sharing a martini with friends, one could be assured of lively and interesting conversation. Mrs. Wright was twice married, first to the late S. Marshall Sanders, Jr. and then to the late Foster G. Wright. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa "Missie" Sanders Walker (Joseph), son, S. Marshall Sanders III (Gina); grandchildren, J. David Walker, Jr. (Joy), Marshall James Walker, step-grandchildren, April Goins and Christopher Goins; and step- greatgrandchild, Blake Goins and greatgrandchildren, Claire Ryan Walker and James Marshall Walker. The family also desires to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Lowman Home for the care and patience extended to Wendy during her time there. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with a visitation following from 6:30 until 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
