Genevieve Dew Frye 78 of 39 Katies Lane Newberry SC died Wednesday March 16 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born on March 21 1932 in Conway SC she was a daughter of the late Nora Frances Roberts Dew. Mrs. Frye retired after 45 years with Shawnee Blackrock and Damon Shirt Plants in Newberry and retired after 16 years with the Mid-Carolina Middle School Cafeteria where she was still working part time. She was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church the United Methodist Women and the Prayer Quilt Ministry. Her hobbies were quilting cooking for others gardening and Doing for Others. She was affectionately know as Ms Genny Aunt BB and Ester and is survived by daughter Mary Catherine (Ervin E.L) Reynolds of Newberry; sons Irvin Billy (Kim Timmerman) Frye Jr. of Newberry and R. Alan (Betty Overton) Frye of Prosperity SC: half brother Jimmy Dew of Hickory NC; grandchildren Nora Reynolds (Kenneth Wayne) Sanders Bobby (Christy Garrison) Reynolds and John Robert Frye and fiance Haley Armfield: and great-grandchildren Krystal Sanders Gabrielle Sanders Hunter Sanders and Dalton Reynolds. She was predeceased by her husband Irvin Bill Frye; brothers Louis Howard Dew and half brother Rex Dew. Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Interment did follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family was at her residence and did receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to her funeral services.
