George D. Way 99 formerly of Mower St. Newberry died Monday December 21 2009 at White Oak Manor.He was the son of the late Geroge D. Sr. and Mary Griffith Way. He was the former owner of the Newberry A&P Grocery Store and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Adelphian/Fellowship Sunday School.He was twice married first to the late Dorothy Fogle Way and second to the late Dorothy Thomas Way. He is survived by his grandson and his wife Jefferey and Gloria Carter of Mullins; and step-children Catherine "Cherry" Seraphin Arthur Thomas III and Marshall Thomas. He was predeceased by 3 sisters Kitty Summers Mattie Wentik and Christa Belle Garrick.Memorial services were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev.
