George Harroll Cannon 89 of 609 Westwoods Dr. Chapin died Friday November 19 2010. He was born on April 25 1921 in Chapin a son of the late Charlie Pickens and Minnie Wessinger Cannon. Mr. Cannon was an Army veteran of WW II. He farmed with his father worked in a saw mill and was a retired employee of Thomas & Howard Co. After retirement he enjoyed working land raising animals and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Primetimers. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Katherine Frick Cannon; sons and daughter-in-law Bruce Cannon and Glenn and Jean Cannon all of Chapin; a sister Nettie Frick of Little Mountain; grandsons and their spouses Jeremy Bruce and Samantha Jo Cannon and Justin F. and Jennifer Cannon all of Chapin; and 5 great grandchildren Carley Jordan Cannon Jacob Harrison Cannon Jackson Harroll Cannon Emerson Paje Cannon and Marisa Riley Cannon. He was predeceased by a sister Edna Frick and 5 brothers Forrest Cannon Henry Cannon Harry Cannon Roy Cannon and Carroll Cannon. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church by Rev. David B. Tholstrup. Interment was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Tuesday at Whitaker Funeral Home Chapin. Pallbearers were Brice Cannon Ray Cannon Roy Cannon Jr. Melvin Cannon Mike McCartha Carey Frick Wayne Stoudemire and Jim Stoudemire. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Primetimers.
