On April 30 2015 one of Gods servants Alma Gertrude Bowers 96 passed from this earth into His hands to be forever with her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday May 4 2015 at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. J. Harry Crout. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowers was born on Feb. 21 1919 in Silverstreet the 4th child of Rahn Agnew and Beulah Gertrude Singley Hamm. She was a 1937 graduate of Silverstreet High School a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church and was a Life member of WELCA. She was a homemaker in her early years and later worked for General Electric in Irmo from which she retired. Her favorite past time was fishing gardening and cooking. Mrs. Bowers is survived by her son Ronald E. Bowers (Andrea) of Silverstreet; her grandchildren Suzanne M. Bowers (Roque Cosmos) and R. Craig Bowers all of West Columbia and Angela Bowers Birchmore (Shannon) of Batesburg; her great-grandson Alex Bowers; her sister-in-law Willodean Hamm of Six Mile SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Pink Evans Bowers Jr.; and sons Charles Edward Bowers and Steve Allen Bowers. She also is predeceased by all of her siblings Robert Lee Hamm Frances Butler Annie L. Brossy John Sidney Hamm Esther Woodward Henry Milton Hamm Beulah Sauve Ruby Faasen Andrew Russell Hamm and Sarah Reavis. Pallbearers will be Gerry Dominick Louis Brossy Andy Faasen Tyler Faasen Charlie Faasen and David Hamm.
