Gladys Pearson Pickelsimer, 95, of Newberry died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at White Oak Manor with her family by her side. Born in Brevard, North Carolina on March 8, 1926, she was a daughter of Reverend William L. and Georgia Tinsley Pearson. Gladys was married to the late E. E. (Pick) Pickelsimer. She was a homemaker and member of Freedom Baptist Church in Newberry. Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Cathey Babb of Chappells and Patti Moore of Newberry; sons, Dexter Bradshaw of Lake Wylie and Max Pickelsimer of Rock Hill; sister, Wilma P. Black of Morganton, NC; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by special friend, TL Brown; sons-in-law, Joe Babb and Jimmy Moore; daughter-in-law, Pat Bradshaw; and a grandson, Benjamin Bradshaw. Funeral services will be held at Freedom Baptist Church on Saturday, June 26 at 11 AM by Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 2028 Mt Bethel-Garmany Road, Newberry, SC 29108. Messages of comfort may be left for the family here on the tribute wall.
