Glenn H. Cannon, 71, of Chapin died July 17, 2019 at the Lexington Medical Center. Born on February 14, 1948, he was a son of Katherine Frick Cannon of Newberry and the late George Harroll Cannon. Glenn was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He worked with Vulcan Materials for 52 years. Glenn established a work ethic that had significant meaning to his family and heavily influenced both his sons. Life in the outdoors was enjoyable for him and he came to be a great hunter and fisherman. He was honest, dependable, opinionated and always right. A strong family man, Glenn was the constant in the lives of his family members. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jean Belarde Cannon; his sons and their spouses, Jeremy Bruce and Samantha Cannon and Justin F. and Jennifer Cannon all of Chapin; grandchildren, Jordan, Jake, Jack, Emmi and Riley Cannon and his older brother D. Bruce Cannon,. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Chapin conducted by the Rev. James H. Houck. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary. Honorary pallbearers will be Brice Cannon, Ray Cannon, Tommy Deaton and Brent Connelly.
