IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glennard "Glenn" G.
Pruitt
August 2, 1949 – April 18, 2024
Glennard G. Pruitt, age 74 of Little Mountain, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 18, 2024.
Born August 2, 1949, in San Jose, CA, he was preceded in death by his adoptive father and mother Peyton Pruitt, Jr. and Irene Marks. He was blessed to have met his natural mother, Ruby Dickerson, prior to her passing.
Glenn, as he was called by family and friends, was a retired USAF MSGT, as well as a Vietnam Veteran. While serving in the Air Force, he was an Aircraft Crash Rescue Fireman and an inflight Refueling Specialist, also known as a Boom Operator - a job he truly loved and would talk about with anyone who would listen. One of his greatest joys was being able to see the world as a USAF Aircrew Member.
After his 1987 retirement from the Military, Glenn began a 32-year career in the Auto Industry as a salesperson, Business Manager, General Sales Manager, and General Manager, starting in Los Angeles, CA and moving to Columbia, SC in 1996.
Glenn was a longtime member of Chapin Christian Community Church where he served for the last few years leading small groups and volunteering wherever there was a need. He lived out his faith, always saying that God was first in his life, followed by his family and country.
Glenn always strived to be a strong Christian and a role model for his daughters, grandsons, and a loving and devoted husband to his wife. He loved to play the guitar and enjoyed the outdoors - kayaking, biking, and working around his property.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Diane Pruitt; his daughters Madeline Pruitt and Renee Osean and son-in-law Brett Osean; grandsons Matthew, Nick, and Andrew Osean; his sisters Cathy Grant, Joanne Tharpe, Carol Dickerson, Elizabeth Elder, and April Harper; a brother Robert Pruitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at Chapin Christian Community Church, 415 Lexington Ave, Chapin, SC, on Friday, April 26, 2024, 12:00 PM by Pastor Jody Flowers. The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Military honors, provided by the United States Air Force, will follow in the church courtyard.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Chapin Christian Community Church for "Missions".
Memories and messages of condolence may be shared with the family at whitakerfuneralhome.com.
Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin, is honored to assist the Pruitt family.
