Gloria Thomas Dominick, 77, of Newberry, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her residence. Born on February 13, 1941 in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Jessie Ward Thomas. She was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church and was employed with Allied Corp, Irmo Plant for twenty-seven years. Shopping was a fun pastime for Gloria and she fully appreciated a good bargain. Flowers were a significant part of her life with her rose garden being an object of pride. She also enjoyed watching the humming birds flitting about in the yard. Gloria loved everyone and her family and friends were all very important to her. She also loved her dogs. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Earl Dominick; sons, Donnie Carnes, Randy Carnes (Jean) and Tommy Earl Dominick (Sherry) all of Newberry; brother, Danny Thomas (Liz) of Vera Beach, FL; grandchildren, Shawn Carnes (Linsay), Brandan Carnes (Anne), Jennifer Craig (James), Ashley Roberts (Adam), Crystal Carnes, and Christy Carnes-Eigner (Darron); great grandchildren, Tyler, Kirah, Laney, Blakeley, Teagan, Jameson and Greyson; other loved great grandchildren; and her toy poodles, T.J. and Furby. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Jack Thomas, Mildred Husky, Lois Thomas and Betty Williams. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 14, from 12 noon until 1:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Entombment will be in Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton, SC. Marc Dominick, Craig Dominick, Freddie Harmon, Tyler Carnes, Bert Thomas and Doug Kirk will serve as pallbearers.
