Granville Lamar (Jim) Huffstetler, 89, of Chapin died on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. He was born to the later Arthur and Willie Mae (Mayer) Huffstetler on April 30, 1934. After graduating high school, he served in the Army. In 1957 Jim married Carolyn (Martin) Huffstetler, his wife of 66 years.

Jim was a carpenter in the home construction business. He was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Chapin, where he was active in several ministries through the years including the Property Committee, Sunday School teacher, Church Council, Youth Advisor, Prime Timers and We Care ministry. In his free time, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball, playing baseball and softball, fishing, and growing vegetables in his garden.

He was devoted to his family and to his church and is survived by his wife, Carolyn, their children Cindy (John) Price, Tim Huffstetler, Janet (Ted) Nissen, Alex Huffstetler; grandchildren, John Price, Jr. (Jessica), J. (Shannon) Nissen, Sarah Price, Michael Price; great granddaughters, Fira, Mia, Ryleigh, Winter; and sister Caro Knight. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Margie Jordan, Ellis "Jack" Huffstetler, Doris Long, Clarence "Hump" Huffstetler, Leonard "Skin" Huffstetler, Rudy Huffstetler, and Nell White.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, November 13, 2023, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 900 Dreher Island Rd, with interment immediately following the service in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held in the church fellowship hall after the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Peter Lutheran Church Help Fund, or a charity of your choice.
