Harold E. "Rick" Rickard, 73, of Chapin, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Brian Center. Born October 26, 1943 in Waynesville, MO, he was the son of the late Harold Edward and Margaret Lucille Rauch Rickard. Harold was a master electrician who worked for Dunn Electric, Franklin Electric and retired from the University of South Carolina. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Chapin, a former member of Lutheran Men, and a member of the Little Mountain Masonic Lodge #281. He enjoyed swimming and shrimping in his younger days. Always a hard worker, he managed to find time later for traveling and reading as well as cutting and splitting wood. He also had a fondness for history. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Faye Rickard; children, Steve Rickard (Jennifer) of Columbia and Karen R. Davis (Jason) of Mt. Holly, NC; grandchildren, Leia Trower, Kylie Trower and Jordan Rickard and sister, Faye Rivers of Chapin. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Rickard. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4:00 PM at St Peter Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. David Tholstrup. The family will greet friends following the service.
