Harriet Holliday Sligh 85 of 1504 Wheeler St. Newberry widow of Frank B. "Buddy" Sligh died Monday November 26 2007 at the Lexington Medical Center.She was born on February 3 1922 in Anderson County a daughter of the late J. Haskell and Annie Crawford Holliday. She was a retired public school teacher having taught in Newberry County Saluda County and Laurens County schools. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church Friends of the Library DAR UDC and AAUW. She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church.Mrs. Sligh is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Susan S. and Robert Owens of Roswell GA; a son and daughter-in-law Frank A. and Kim Sligh of Newberry; two brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Mildred Holliday of Newberry and Roy and Jewell Holliday of Rome GA; six grandchildren Robert Owens III Michael T. Owens Frank A. Owens Jessica F. Brannon and her husband Tracen Carey B. Sligh and Derek M. Sligh; and a great grandchild Trae Brannon. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret H. Holcomb.Graveside funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday in Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Ada Charles and Rev.
