Harriette Slice Nichols, 86, widow of Wilbur A. Nichols died Saturday December 25th, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on July 4th, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Jimmie Kesler and Milam Wendell Slice of Chapin.
During her career she worked with the Clinton Newberry Gas Authority when they first opened an office in Newberry (late 1950s) and later with Shakespeare. She ended her career working with the Manpower program in Newberry.
Harriette enjoyed working in the yard in her flower beds and growing vegetables in the garden. She was meticulous about trimming her shrubbery and keeping her yard groomed.
Those surviving Harriette are sons, Billy Nichols (Penney) and Johnny Nichols (Tammy); daughter Ann Spotts (Jeff); and grandchildren, Alan Nichols, Benjamin Nichols, Christina Holcombe, Johnathan Nichols and Zach Spotts.
Harriette was predeceased by brothers, John Henry Slice, Claude Slice and sisters Mary Slice Derrick, Helen Slice Kempson.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Floyd Sides officiating. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Nichols, Jackie Swindler, Joey Kitchen, Mike Holcombe, William Shephard, Zach Spotts.
The family extends a special thanks to Angel Care for their wonderful care and dedication to Mrs. Nichols. Also a special thanks to the people with Prisma and MSA Hospice for their care and help with the services and care they provided.
Thank you to the staff of Newberry County Memorial Hospital for their kindness and care shown to Mrs. Nichols and her family during this time.
