Obituary

Harvey Christopher Wren "Chris" was born July 31, 1952, in Charleston, SC and peacefully entered eternal rest at home on November 10, 2023.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Cindy Roberts Kellett Wren, his children Sean Christopher Wren (Mary Kathryn), Hillary Wren O'Cain Shealy (Rembert "Lee"), his grandchildren Cameron Janine O'Cain, Brynlee McKenna Shealy and his stepdaughter Bonnie Kellett Salter (Bradley) and grandson, Brooks Kellett Salter. Chris is also survived by the mother of his children, Janine Williams Wren Crouch (Norman Crouch) and his nephews Jason Wade Williams (Angela), Bryan Craig Williams (Susie) and Barrett Scott Williams and her grandchildren Bryce Craig Williams, Bryan Chase Williams, Landon Lewis Williams, and Peyton Robert Williams and Christopher Jadon "CJ" Williams, and former wife and sister-in-law Paulette Brodeur Williams Wren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Asa Willard Wren from St. Stephens, SC and Katherine Goddard Wren Hannah from Sydney, Australia. He is also survived by his sister, Palmalea Wren Pratt (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL. and preceded in death by his half-brother, Jeffrey Humbert Wren (son of Asa Wren) of Charleston, SC.

Chris dedicated himself to his career with the American Cancer Society (ACS) of South Carolina, beginning as a field representative in Charleston in 1978 and retiring as CEO in 1999. He took great pride in his accomplishments and worked hard in his passion to fight cancer. He was a natural leader and 'people person', an extremely loving father and husband, and friend to all he knew.

We will remember Chris for reminding everyone to "wear your seatbelt", and during stressful times reminding us to, "Lighten up Francis." He will mostly be remembered for being meticulously dressed, his sparkling blue eyes and loving smile, his passion for fine watches, his love of all things Sherlock Holmes, and his love for his home city of Charleston, SC and home on Lake Murray. While Chris will be greatly missed, his family celebrates his reunion in heaven with his family and friends that preceded him (especially James Stone), and his beloved poodle "brown eyed girl" Peanut.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Chris' life will be held at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin from 2:00PM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 2nd with a special time of remembrance at 4:00 PM.

Memories and messages may be shared with the family here on his tribute page.
